distilling the CMA Customer Marketing Summit

The Customer Marketing Alliance (CMA) is a global community of the leading customer marketing professionals, and we had the honor of sponsoring and attending the Alliance’s 2023 San Francisco Customer Marketing Summit!

Beyond getting some incredible customer marketing insights from leaders at companies like Atlassian and Adobe, our CEO, Steve Wheen, hosted a panel all about customer trust. Building customer trust—the key to successful customer advocacy brought together Joshua Zerkel, Head of Global Engagement Marketing at Asana, Allison Johnson, Global Head of Customer Marketing at Okta, and Andreas Silva, Customer Advocacy Manager at Alteryx to discuss how they instill trust in relationships.

After we discussed the most effective ways to establish communities that amplify company brand voices, our team took the time to mix, mingle, and discuss some of our learnings with other customer marketing champions.

“It's important to avoid customer burnout,” said Natasha Senn, Account Director at distillery. “One way to prevent it from happening is to talk to our clients about having contacts at different levels of their customer organizations who can be involved in different activities. They might lean on C-level contacts for big opportunities and day-to-day users for product feedback, for example.”

“And those customers need incentives,” added Becky Peterhansen, Global Group Account Director at distillery. “Customers have to feel they are getting something of value by agreeing to help create content from their experience.”
